MIAHM Adds Hyatt Place Melbourne Airport in First Third-Party Deal

MIAMI — MIA Hospitality Management has added the 143-room Hyatt Place Melbourne Airport and its Runway Rooftop Bar & Grill to its management portfolio, marking the company’s first third-party hotel management contract.

MIA Hospitality Management, or MIAHM, assumed management of the Melbourne, Fla., hotel and rooftop venue July 1.

Opened in June 2023, Hyatt Place Melbourne Airport is located at Melbourne Orlando International Airport on Florida’s Space Coast. The property includes meeting facilities and multiple food and beverage options and serves business, leisure and aviation-related travelers.

“Securing our first third-party management contract is an important milestone for MIA Hospitality Management,” said Brian Vujnovic, CEO and co-founder of MIAHM. “As hotel developers and owners ourselves, we understand the level of trust that comes with placing an asset in the hands of a management partner.”

The agreement also puts Runway Rooftop Bar & Grill under MIAHM management. The open-air venue overlooks the airport’s runways.

MIAHM said it plans to introduce a revised menu, new signature cocktails and an expanded wine selection at Runway Rooftop in September, along with new weekly and monthly programming.

The company also operates the rooftop food and beverage concepts Charlie Park in Tallahassee and Rosa Sky in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood. MIAHM said its experience with those venues will inform its approach to Runway Rooftop, including an emphasis on attracting local customers in addition to hotel guests.

MIAHM said it is pursuing additional third-party hotel management contracts, particularly at properties where food and beverage operations represent a significant part of the business.
