Westin San Antonio North Sold; LBA Assumes Management

SAN ANTONIO — Amethyst Hospitality Group LP has acquired the 326-room Westin San Antonio North, and LBA Hospitality is assuming management of the property following the ownership change.

The sale price was not disclosed. Hunter Advisors brokered the transaction on behalf of an undisclosed institutional seller, with Senior Vice President Kami Burnette and Vice President Riana Stadlen handling the sale.

The 19-story hotel, in northwest San Antonio at 9821 Colonnade Blvd., was built in 1985 and converted to Marriott International’s Westin brand in 2021. The property completed a renovation of its meeting and public spaces in 2019 and offers nearly 25,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including a ballroom of approximately 9,900 square feet. The hotel also includes a full-service restaurant, coffee shop and lobby lounge.

LBA Hospitality said in a separate news release that a comprehensive renovation of the hotel is now in the planning stages, with completion targeted for 2028. Although the management company did not disclose additional details about the planned improvements, its announcement noted that the management assignment builds on an existing relationship with the owner.

Burnette said Amethyst Hospitality Group, based in Harlingen, Texas, plans to reposition the hotel to increase its competitiveness in the market.

Located just off Interstate 10, the property is across from USAA’s headquarters campus and near Valero Energy’s corporate headquarters. The South Texas Medical Center is less than three miles away, while the University of Texas at San Antonio is approximately five miles from the hotel.
