AC Hotel Miami Dadeland Appoints Female-Led Executive Team

MIAMIConcord Hospitality Enterprises is pleased to announce the appointment of Adriana Vellojin to the role of General Manager, and Maria Maloney to the role of Director of Sales and Marketing for AC Hotel Miami Dadeland as it looks to its opening later this summer.

Vellojin and Maloney bring a combined total of more than 35 years of hospitality knowledge and experience to the fashion-forward hotel located in the heart of South Miami’s growing cultural hub. Together, the female-led executive staff will oversee the 177-room Marriott lifestyle hotel, aiming to position AC Hotel Miami Dadeland as a modern space with European flair that has the flexibility to host meetings and events of all kinds.

“Adriana and Maria are the right leaders to open and operate AC Hotel Miami Dadeland,” says Ken Polo, Regional Vice President at Concord Hospitality Enterprises Company. “Their extensive hospitality background and business development skills will help us successfully launch our premium-branded hotel to market, develop strategic alliances and expand our international sales presence.  We believe their strong leadership experience will help position AC Hotel Miami Dadeland as a go-to travel destination in South Miami,” adds Mr. Polo.

Serving as the general manager, Vellojin will oversee all operations for the 177-room AC Hotel Miami Dadeland, including the AC Lounge and AC Kitchen; the state-of-the-art fitness facility; the property’s chic rooftop pool; as well as more than 3,600 square feet of meetings and event space.

Vellojin brings almost two decades of hospitality industry experience to the new fashion-forward hotel, which includes working within Marriott International’s vast portfolio of owned and managed hotels. She has worked with Marriott International in Gaithersburg, a full service hotel, as well as a Springfield Suites and Fairfield Inn complex with over 400 rooms as Operations Manager. It was there that Vellojin earned the top award for employee satisfaction in the region for two consecutive years in a row. In addition, she was part of the renovation team for Courtyard Coral Gables and the opening team for Homewood Suites and Hilton Garden Inn Miami Airport.

Bringing her multicultural and bilingual experience having worked in hotels since she was seventeen, Maloney assumes her position as Director of Sales & Marketing by overseeing business development activities, developing marketing opportunities and plans, implementing sales plans and managing staff. Maloney has held various sales roles for brands such as Doubletree, Indigo, Hilton, Accor, Hyatt, Pestana Hotel Group based in Portugal, and now Marriott.  Her work in boutique properties has led her to acquire knowledge across the spectrum of market segments and geographies.

Under the leadership of Vellojin and Maloney, hotel guests and locals can look forward to a perfectly precise hotel complete with modern accommodations, timeless European design, and five-star service, located steps away and adjacent via pathway from Miami’s original shopping center, Dadeland Mall.
